ACCOMMODATIONS - GENERAL INFORMATION
Main Cabin For those staying at Barr Camp, mattresses, a horseshoe pit, and picnic tables are available.  For those who overnight breakfast is included and dinner is an optional addition.  Guests must provide all of their own personal equipment, sleeping bag, and water filter. Emergency communication with El Paso County Search and Rescue and first-aid is available at the Camp, or at the Summit House on top of Pikes Peak. Soda, snacks, and T-shirts are sold year-round to help support upkeep of the camp.

 Well behaved dogs are welcome in camp as long as they are under their owner's control. Please do not allow your dogs inside the main cabin or bunkhouse. Please keep dogs on a leash at all times on Forest Service land. If planning to spend the night with your dog, please rent a lean-to shelter, upper cabin, or tent.
 

RATES

Camp Ground Prices include breakfast!

Dinner available only to overnight guests and by reservation.

Barr Camp offers four overnight accommodations by reservation.

  • Main Cabin (bunkhouse style, sleeps 15):
    • $28/night per person:
  • Lean-to-Shelters (each sleep 3):
    • $17/night per person.
  • Upper Cabin (private cabin, sleeps up to 12, three double beds, rented as a whole unit):
    • $77 per night for cabin plus $17 per person
  • Tent Sites  Within the Barr Camp Perimeter:
    • $12 per person

In order to give the cooks a break, prepared meals are not available on Monday or Tuesday night.  Dehydrated meals are available for purchase at any time.  Hot water included.

Bring extra cash for snacks and souvenirs.

100% of our sales income is used to cover our operational costs.  It is the policy of the Barr Camp Board to earmark all donations and contributions for capital projects to improve the Barr Camp facilities.

MEALS
Food Prepared meals are only available to overnight guests and on-site campers.  Overnight and meal reservation required.

In order to give the cooks a break, prepared meals are not available on Monday or Tuesday night.

There are some food products to purchase at the cabin, including snacks, pop, candy bars, prepackaged freeze dried meals, and all the coffee you can drink.

Dehydrated meals are available for purchase at any time.  Hot water included.

Meals are by Reservation Only!!!

  • Dinner ( 6 P.M. SHARP ):  $8, Usually Spaghetti and homemade bread.
  • Breakfast ( 7 A.M. SHARP ) included in overnight price.   Usually Pancakes
If you have already reserved a meal, and show up late, it may have been consumed by the other ravenous hikers!

Meal ingredients and allergies - Our meals may contain any of the following:  wheat, rice, soy, milk, nuts, eggs, corn, sugar.
If you have particular dietary concerns please make your own meal arrangements.

 

OUTHOUSE
This is one heck of an outhouse!  New in 2001, it is a composting system and we think you will find it the best on the mountain!   You don't need to pay to use it, and can't sleep overnight in it, but we thought we'd include it here.
